Biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP)

BOPP film is a widely used rugged thermoplastic polymer. When polypropylene film is biaxially oriented, BOPP, it becomes crystal clear but remains available in white and matte finishes. The polypropylene film substrate reasonable economics, conformability and fatigue resistance make it ideal for packaging, labeling and graphic applications. BOPP film is commonly used for applications that require moisture resistance, optical clarity and high tensile strength such as:

Adding Functionality to Polypropylene Film

DUNMORE adds value to BOPP films by vacuum metalizing, coating and laminating the substrate for a variety of uses. This process requires a higher level of technical expertise because BOPP film has inherently low surface energy so coatings do not adhere to the substrate as well as PET and other films. DUNMORE addresses this issue by offering a variety of surface treatment options, such as corona, plasma, and topcoatings that can be applied to the BOPP film to improve the bonding characteristics.
