DUNMORE offers DUN-SOLAR™ PV backsheet to the photovoltaic market as a component for the production of solar panels. DUN-SOLAR™ PV backsheet materials protect photovoltaic modules from UV, moisture and weather. They insulate the electrical load of the modules, which can operate up to 1000 VDC. These functions are essential for the photovoltaic modules functionality, longevity and safety of people who work with and near the module.

To ensure that all PV-Modules meet the necessary requirements, they must pass the qualification standards such as IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC 61646 and UL 1703. DUN-SOLAR™ PV backsheet products are developed, produced and tested in conformance with all common standards and regulations. DUNMORE works very closely with the world famous Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE located in Freiburg Germany very near our manufacturing plant also in Freiburg.

DUNMORE PV Backsheet Credentials

DUN-SOLAR™ PV backsheets are certified by TÜV or VDE for partial discharge (IEC 60664-1) and we were the first to receive UL recognition under file QIHE2, Photovoltaic Polymeric Materials Component.

DUN-SOLAR™ PV backsheets are easily cleanable, chemically resistant and provide a very strong "tear bond" to EVA encapsulants. They have exceptional stability under damp heat and freeze-thaw conditions. Extended damp heat testing has shown superior retention of bond strength for all layers of the laminate.

PV Backsheet Construction

DUN-SOLAR™ photovoltaic backsheet has a traditional three-layer design using only the highest quality materials. DUNMORE's superior adhesive and laminating technology provides exceptional bonding of all layers in the PV backsheet.

DUNMORE offers various PV backsheet constructions such as TPT, TPE using DuPont Tedlar®, FPE fluorinated products and PPE+ all polyester constructions. Other products are available and DUNMORE works with customers to develop products to meet their special needs.
