Dunmore's collaboration with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is documented in the NASA Spinoff 2016 article, "Temperature-Resistant Materials Enable Space-Like Cold on Earth." The publication describes how JPL engineers required a thermal blanket tape for the Cassini spacecraft that did not exist commercially, leading Dunmore to develop a specialized carbon-filled Kapton® polyimide tape reinforced with a woven scrim for the mission.
